SINGAPORE, Dec 1 -- A Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) F-5 fighter jet taking off from Lim Chu Kang Road, a multiple lanes and straight road, in an half-an-hour exercise here on Monday.The exercise, which is carried out every five to six years, involved converting pedestrian roads into an improvised airstrip within 48 hours. More than 10 RSAF aircraft, including fighter jets like F-5 and E-2C Airborne Early Warning Aircraft (Awac), executed a series of take-offs and landings on the road.The Singapore's Defence Ministry says the exercise highlighted the RSAF's operational readiness and its ability to fly and deliver air power continuously.--fotoBERNAMA COPYRIGHT RESERVED
