More than 300 graves, some are century old at Daat island near here had to be excavated to make away for a RM3 billion Intergrated Petroleum project on the island. The massive excavation exercise started last week has handled by Labuan Islamic Religous Department involving five locations on the island.Its assistant director Ghazali Saat said the actual number of remains are yet to be ascertained because some of the old grave were without proper tombstones, forcing the department's officials to dig at many places.He said as of today, 171 remains have been excavated and relocated at Kampung Sungai Labu in Labuan island and the whole excercise is expected to be completed end of next week.--fotoBERNAMA (2011) COPYRIGHT RESERVED
