BAKUN, Oct 28 -- A typical floating house or "Jelatong" found sprouting up in the Bakun Hydro dam lake in Bakun near Belaga.Concerns have been raised over their presence as the toilet water and household wastes are dumped straight into the lake water.There are about 100 of such structures sitting either on logs or sealed steel oil drums secured together.Some owners use the houses for week-end getaways , others as accommodation while rearing fish in nets and cages while the more entreprsising ones hire them to tourists.Acting Controller of the Sarawak Rivers Board Teo Swee Ann had said they would eventually have to go once the Bakun lake is officially gazetted as a restricted area.--fotoBERNAMA (2011) COPYRIGHT RESERVED
