LABUAN, Dec 29 -- Labuan Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has won the case against a vessel operator who was charged for smuggling contraband cigarettes, liquor and alcoholic drinks worth at RM2.8 million.The case charged under Section 135(1((e) Customs Act 1967 was brought to court early this year.MMEA Labuan Captain Maritime Che Adnan Md Isa said the biggest seizure so far achieved was made during an operation on May 5.ÒWe are glad to have won the case which was granted by the court on Dec 19,Ó he said in a statement today.He said the court also fined RM5,000 each to seven people involved consisted of crews including a Myanmar citizen and skipper.
