PUTRAJAYA, Oct 23 -- HIGH SPIRIT ... Nine-year-old Dini Azhar (wearing a spectacles) are among students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Putrajaya in Presint 1 who took part in Read 2008: One nation Reading Together, a nationwide campaign to celebrate the importance and the joys of reading.The reading marathon, called read-a thon, encouraged children, teachers, librarians and parents alike to take time during the day to read a book for at least 2,008 seconds, or about half-an-hour, to read today.Beside Dini and his schoolmates, over 29,000 children nationwide, from age three to 17 participated in the event.Event organiser, Scholastic, a publisher and seller of children books has pledged to donate one book to a less priviledged child for every child who participated in read-a-thon.--fotoBERNAMA COPYRIGHT RESERVED
