KUCHING, Sept 24 -- A jubilant Chong Cheing Jen (middle) flanked by his counsel, Wong Ho Leng, who is also the Sarawak DAP Chairman and a supporter outside the Election Court here, today after he was declared as the dully elected Bandar Kuching Member of Parliament (MP). The Election Court today dismissed with costs a petition challenging the election of DAP Vice-Chairman Chong Chieng as Bandar Kuching MP in the March 8 general election. In dismissing the petition, Justice Datuk Clement Allan Skinner declared that Chong, 37, was duly elected as the Bandar Kuching MP as no corrupt practice had been proven to have been committed by him or with his knowledge and consent as alledged by voter Kho Whai Phiaw, 64. -- fotoBERNAMA COPYRIGHT RESERVED
