KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 -- Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Datuk Mustapa Mohamed (left) and his Indonesian counterpart Dr Anton Apriyantono signing the Memorandum of Understanding on the sidelines of the Developing Eight (D8) Ministers Meeting on Food Security here, today.The MoU is aimed at strengthening, promoting and developing bilateral between the two countries on the basis of equality and mutual benefit in food crops, horticulture, livestock, agribusiness and agro industry.It also emphasises on private sector involvements to undertake joint cooperation projects in agriculture and food productionThe three-day ministers meeting, which began yesterday, will focus on key inputs namely the creation of seed banks, the production and suplly of quality fertilizers and animal feed to perk up agricultural productivity.The countries that make up the D8 are Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Egypt and Nigeria.--fotoBERNAMA COPYRIGHT RESERVED
