JOHOR BAHARU, April 30 -- Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Biomedical and Health Science Engineering Faculty's director Assoc Prof Dr Eko Supriyanto demonstrates the usage of his invention -- Trisomy 21 Early Detection System: T21 Detector at the university here, today. T21 Detector is a system which consist of low cost hardware and software that could be integrated with most ultrasound diagnostic machines can be used to detect Trisomy 21, a type of Down Syndrome as early as in the eighth and 12th weeks of pregnancy.After conducting a clinical trial for a year involving over 1,000 pregnant women, UTM is ready to commercialise the detector this year. -- fotoBERNAMA COPYRIGHT RESERVED
