KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 ââââÅ¡¬ A severely injured stray cat, found bleeding with critical injuries following a road accident, was saved through an emergency blood transfusion at a veterinary clinic earlier this year.Veterinarian Dr Shafiqah Nasruddin said the life-saving procedure was made possible by Fluffy Kassim, a five-year-old resident cat, whose calm nature enabled him to serve as a blood donor during the critical operation.Fluffy, a Persian and Maine Coon mix, is among several in-house feline donors relied upon by clinics due to the lack of dedicated animal blood banks in Malaysia. The case also highlights the growing issue of pet abandonment, with veterinarians urging the public to practise responsible pet ownership, including proper care, spaying and neutering, and long-term commitment.--fotoBERNAMA (2026) COPYRIGHT RESERVED
